To Read or Not To Read

To Read or Not To Read…that is the dilemma posed by Último Productions, as  our Year 11 students perform their GCSE Performing Arts exam at Weatherhead High School.

The exam focus is a literary exhibition, celebrating imaginative fiction.

‘To Read or Not To Read’ is an original musical performance about a young girl, called Sophie, who hates to read; that is, until she dreams about the books she is given by her teacher. In her dreams, Sophie meets the characters from Matilda, Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter, who can only return to their own story by teaching Sophie the reason for reading ‘books without pictures’. Will they succeed?

The performance takes place at Weatherhead on Monday 13th March 2017. Doors open at 4.30pm and theatregoers are invited to immerse themselves in the books, student posters and book reviews on display before the performance starts at 5pm.

Dressing up as your favourite fictional character is optional – but prizes will be available for the best costumes!
