Weatherhead Gymnasts Tumble to Glory

Sixth former Adam and Year 9 Ellie tumbled their way to gold when they competed in the North West Tumble and Acrobatics Championships on Sunday 5th February 2017 at Robin Park, Wigan. Their impressive success means that they have reached their second national final in just 8 days.

Adam and Ellie competed in the under 19s mixed pairs, taking gold with a very impressive routine that saw them record the second highest score of the day for the whole competition.

In addition to their joint success, Adam also competed in the men’s tumbling competition and produced three fantastic tumbles showing poise, control and power. The three tumbles placed him in second position with a score that was just 0.1 behind the winner so narrowly missing gold but Adam has still reached the national UK final!

They are now looking forward to competing against the whole of the UK in April.
