Anti-Bullying Week 2020

‘United Against Bullying’ was the theme for the 2020 Anti-Bullying Week campaign, an annual event organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which ran in schools across the country from 16th – 20th November 2020.

During form time, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 discussed this year’s theme and talked about bullying, why it happens and who you can talk to if you are being bullied or if someone you know is being a bully.

As part of this year’s campaign, Year 7 students were invited to apply for the role of Anti-Bullying Ambassador, and represent their form throughout the year.  Students were asked to complete an application form and say why they wanted to be an ambassador and what qualities they thought they would need. The Year 7 Team, lead by Academic and Pastoral Support Worker Miss Raftery, were really impressed with the applications they received, so well done to everyone who applied.

Our Year 7 Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, who will help with campaigns throughout the year, are:

Pola (7TH), Olivia (7CB), Ava (7AJH), Lilyan (7CHY), Abi (7LCL), Bethany (7ARI), Jess (7CTR), Ela (7SMN), Chelsea (7CN) and Millie (7MCL).

The first project the students worked on was a classroom display for the Year 7 Anti-Bullying Pledge. Each student drew around their hand to create a template which they then decorated. The hands and the pledge are now on display in each form room. Check out the gallery below.
