Under 15 National Schools’ Cup Football

8 December 2016 | Sports News

The year 9/10 football team continued their winning ways in this year’s National Cup competition with a convincing 5-1 win over Walney School.

The team made the long trek north to Walney Island, Barrow-in-Furness and made sure it was not a wasted journey!

The under 15s set their stall out immediately with a strike from captain Abbott foiling the keeper early on to take Weatherhead into the lead.

Further goals from Harding, Bunting and Fleetwood, along with a marvellous team effort on all areas of the pitch saw the team comfortably through to Round 6, making them one of only 16 teams left in the competition.

A fabulous result for this hard-working bunch!
Final score:
Walney School 1 – 5 Weatherhead High School
