Careers Guidance – Future Choices

Weatherhead has a dedicated team committed to helping students with their Future Choices – be that Higher Education, Further Education, or Careers Guidance.

The Future Choice programme supports students right across school from Years 7-13.

For students in Years 9 and 11 making informed choices about their futures in relations to GCSE Options or post 16 study, 1:1 interviews are scheduled.

Year 12 students are encouraged to complete work experience and volunteering as part of their enrichment programme.

Weatherhead Sixth Form benefits greatly from the dedicated support for students making successful choices for Higher Education and Careers.

Enrichment is another area that the Future Choices programme supports at Weatherhead.  The school enjoys extensive links with businesses and enterprise partners, a wide range of community organisations across charities, cultural, creative and volunteering sections, as well as professional bodies. Through these contacts we can offer a full range of enrichment opportunities, work experiences, volunteering placements, mentoring, extra curricular activities and extended school courses.

These all serve to enhance the prospects for our students making Higher Education or Career applications, or simply developing work related and life long learning skills.

Weatherhead’s Leadership specialism further strengthens the Enrichment Programme by offering leadership skills training and qualifications across the diverse range of interests and activities promoted through the Enrichment programme. This is a quite unique feature to Weatherhead and of great value to students.

Careers drop-in sessions for students take place every Thursday lunchtime in B200 (the glass office) from 12.45pm-1.15pm.

Careers drop-in sessions for parents take place every Tuesday after school from 3.20pm-4.20pm in F109.
