Alumni

In 2013/14, Weatherhead celebrated its ten year annniversary on the Breck Road site.

To mark the occasion, an ‘Alumni’ network was launched, to connect with as many former Weatherhead students as possible.  The objective was to to create a picture of life beyond Weatherhead – to illustrate the many career paths and opportunities that former students have taken, building on their education and experiences at Weatherhead, to inspire the current cohort of Weatherhead students.

To date we have established connections with nearly 400 former students, dating from leavers in 1963 to the present day.

We have benefitted from their input across a range of activities, including:-

  • Dr Katie Petty-Saphon, MBE, PhD, MA, Cambridge Alumna and Chief Executive of the Medical Schools’ Council, came in to mentor our aspiring medical students and Gifted cohort
  • Olympic Boxer, Natasha Jonas, maintains a mentor role with our current sport prodiges
  • Law undergraduate, Kathryn Dutton, supports our Duke of Edinburgh programme
  • Art undergraduate at Goldmiths, University of London, Christian Watts, gives talks to Art students on higher education and future choices with Art
  • Barrister, Natalie McNamee, and Obstetrician, Dr Tessa Bonnet, were both inspirational speakers at our Senior Awards Evenings.

We welcome and value all new contacts with former students.

The Alumni Network offers:

  • Updates to former students of school news and events
  • Pen portraits of careers and higher education routes to guide our current student community
  • Networking opportunities
  • Celebration of professional and educational achievements of former students beyond Weatherhead

Please do get in touch or pass this information on to any former students you may know.

And keep watching this space for new developments with our Alumni Network.
